Rookie Report: Tuck Stepping Up Her Game

-
Stewie continues to pace the field with a gaudy stat line: 15.2 ppg, 10.1 rpg (which leads the WNBA), 3.0 apg, 1.9 bpg and 1.1 spg.
If she can improve her three-point shooting (19.5%), then her scoring should jump into the 20-point range to complement the rest of her well-rounded game.
-
The 3rd overall pick has started to play well, averaging 15.3 ppg over her past 3 games, including a career-high 20 point performance in a win against her former college teammate, Breanna Stewart.
Tuck has also seen her minutes increase which should help to improve her averages of 8 ppg and 3.4 rpg as the season progresses.
-
Powers has been a consistent scoring option for the Wings, pouring in 11.9 ppg in just 20.3 mpg.
Powers is just 7-26 from 3-point range (26.9%) but is shooting an impressive 82.6% from the free throw line where she has 4.6 attempts per game. If her minutes increase then her scoring should increase as well.
-
It doesn’t come as a surprise that Boyette is being eased into heavier minutes as a rookie. The 6-foot-7 center has been very efficient in her time on the floor though, averaging 6.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg and 1 bpg on 75% from the field in just 16.5 mpg.
Her best game as a pro came on June 10th when she scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 26 minutes in a win over the Fever.
-
Even with the struggles in her past 3 games (combined 5-25 from the field in 3 losses) Tiffany still ranks 2nd in points per game among rookies at 13.4 per game.
If she can continue to get to the line (5 FTA per game) and shoot it well from deep (34.2%) then she will continue to get buckets for Indiana.
-
The 2nd overall pick has been filling up the stat sheet nicely, leading all rookies with 4.3 apgg, 1.4 spg and is 4th with 8.7 ppg.
She can continue to improve her scoring average where she’s shooting an encouraging 38.9% from behind the arc. Also, she scored a career-high 19 points in the Stars most recent win against the Storm.
-
Copper’s numbers may not be eye-popping (5.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg) but at 18.5 mpg (6th among rookies) she has entrenched herself as part of Washington’s rotation.
If the Mystics can improve their home record (0-5) then Copper should continue to produce for team with Playoff aspirations.
