Houston's Tina Thompson was voted MVP of the second WNBA All-Star Game by a panel of media members. Eight of nine ballots went to Thompson (13 points, 11 rebounds in 16 minutes). The other one went to Los Angeles' Lisa Leslie (game-high 16 points, six rebounds), last year's All-Star MVP.

Leslie's 16 points, along with Yolanda Griffith's and Natalie Williams' 10 rebounds are new records for WNBA All-Star Games. Coming off the bench, Griffith notched the only other double-double in the game with 10 points and 10 boards.
