The Storm works hard off the court too by partnering with others to strengthen communities and help individuals across the region. Throughout the year, Storm players, owners and staff participate in community events, donate auction items and provide support for a wide range of programs. Storm players set an example for how education, hard work and dreaming big can help youth and teens build self-esteem and achieve their goals. Together with our sponsors and the WNBA, the Storm promotes several programs that emphasize education and literacy, health and fitness, support for women and girls and youth basketball.
Through "Tickets for Kids," the Storm partners with businesses, individuals and organizations to provide young boys and girls the opportunity to watch professional female athletes at their best and an experience they'll never forget. The Storm donates tickets to the Boys & Girls Clubs, Youth & Family Services, Powerful Voices, Ryther Child Center, Starlight Children's Foundation, United Way, YWCA and many more organizations who make such a difference in the lives of children and youth in our region.
The Seattle Storm is committed to being a strong community partner, helping non-profit organizations throughout the state through our In-Kind Donations program.
The Storm offers a wide range of community appearances. You can request players, Force 10 Hoops (Storm ownership group) or Karen Bryant (Storm Chief Executive Officer).
During the summer months, Storm players team up with the King County Boys & Girls Clubs, encouraging thousands of kids to read. By completing the program, kids earn prizes and tickets to Storm games, courtesy of presenting sponsor Starbucks Coffee Company.
