Indiana Fever Honor Tamika Catchings at Legacy Luncheon
Over 13 seasons with the Fever, Tamika Catchings has not only become one of the great players in WNBA history — she’s also become a major figure in the Indianapolis community.
On Tuesday, the team and the city honored Catchings at the Legacy Luncheon, celebrating Catchings’ career as she enters her final WNBA season. Indy mayor Joe Hogsett also declared March 22 Tamika Catchings Day in the city.

The celebration is the latest in a series of milestones Catchings has faced already and will face over the coming months. Since falling short in the decisive fifth game of the 2015 WNBA Finals, Catchings has attended Team USA training camp in preparation for this summer’s Olympics and launched a tour for her new book, “Catch A Star.”
Tuesday’s tributes were highlighted by a speech from longtime Colts coach Tony Dungy. The Fever also launched a “24 Forever” page, featuring more than 60 tribute videos, including messages from Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning, Larry Bird and Paul George.
