Countdown to 2016: 8 (No. 8 Delisha Milton-Jones, Record Breaker)

The WNBA enters its landmark 20th anniversary season with plenty of stars past and present to celebrate.

No one, however, has spanned the league’s rich history like DeLisha Milton-Jones. In 2015, the longtime No. 8 became No. 1.

Jones, who wore jersey No. 8 throughout her 10-year stint as a Los Angeles Sparks fixture, continued her career as No. 1 with the Atlanta Dream. By season’s end, she had surpassed Tina Thompson for most games played in WNBA history (499).

At 41, Milton-Jones appeared in 18 games for the Dream, who acquired her in a midseason trade in 2014. Her 17-year career includes nine seasons in which she appeared in every game.
