Countdown to 2016: 7 (Sun's Franchise-Best Seven-Game Winning Streak)

Rewind six months to June 2015, and the talk of the WNBA was not the Minnesota Lynx or the Indiana Fever, but the young Connecticut Sun.

Without 2014 Rookie of the Year Chiney Ogwumike sidelined due to injury, the Sun entered the season in a depleted state. But behind a consummate team effort — led by rising stars Alex Bentley and Kelsey Bone — Connecticut quickly rose to the top of the Eastern Conference by June’s end.

Their seven-game winning streak and 7-1 start were both franchise bests. Not even the great Sun teams that finished with the league’s best record in back-to-back seasons (2005, 2006) could match that.
