Jr. Lynx
Now in its 11th season, the Jr. Wolves and Jr. Lynx program promotes the game of basketball to the youth of Minnesota. These programs include statewide summer camps, pregame clinics and high school games played at Target Center. Youth teams also have the opportunity to play during halftime at Timberwolves home games. The goal is to offer the game of basketball to Minnesota kids of all ages, skill and interest levels. The program continues to expand each year to accommodate a growing interest in youth basketball.
Summer Basketball
The Timberwolves are committed to supporting summer basketball leagues and clinics each year. For over a dozen years, the foundation has provided financial support to area basketball organizations such as "Give and Go" Basketball Leagues, Howard Pulley Basketball Program, Clyde Turner Educational Basketball Camp and "Shooting Stars" Girls Basketball Clinics.
The Minnesota Lynx Ballerz Tour Live
The Lynx Ballerz Tour Live stops at over 20 girls high school basketball games over a period of 13 weeks during the regular season, bringing the experience of the WNBA to high school gyms across the state of Minnesota. At each stop, the Lynx meet with the players from the home and visiting teams, their families and their fans, bringing the fun and excitement of Lynx Basketball, including autograph sessions, raffle prizes, Lynx T-shirt giveaways, and even basketball clinics at select stops. The Tour shines the spotlight on girls basketball at local high schools, where the future stars of the WNBA are already competing.
The Minnesota Lynx “Teams of the Week”
In conjunction with the “Lynx Ballerz Tour Live,” the Minnesota Lynx “Teams of the Week” initiative is part of an annual offseason program that the Minnesota Lynx have introduced in the 2007-08 high school basketball season in an effort to give back to the basketball community in the state of Minnesota. The Lynx “Teams of the Week” initiative celebrates excellence in the classroom, in the community, and on the court. Each week throughout the regular season, the Minnesota Lynx will recognize one girls team and one boys team in each of the state’s four classes.
Jr. Lynx Pregame Clinic
A Jr. Lynx clinic prior to a Lynx game is an opportunity for your team, league, association, or youth group to get together for a day of fun and memorable WNBA experience. Beginning each day three hours prior to the Lynx tip-off, the clinics are one hour in length and held on the Lynx main court at Target Center. Each clinic features drills and games geared to teaching kids the fundamentals of basketball. Our hope is that each participant leaves with small building blocks for which they can improve their individual game. The cost of the clinic is simply the purchase of a discounted ticket to that day/night's Lynx game. Parents, family, and friends are welcome to attend the clinic and encouraged to bring a camera to capture their child on the Lynx court. The purchase of a game ticket is required for all clinic spectators.
At the conclusion of the clinic, everyone is welcome to remain courtside for an up-close look at his or her favorite WNBA stars during pregame warm-ups. To reserve your clinic time, e-mail
jrlynx@timberwolves.com or call 612-673-8444.
Lynx Off-site Clinics
An off-site clinic provides the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of the WNBA by bringing it right to you! Led by Lynx players and/or coaches, off-site clinics are ideal for communities and programs that are either restricted by time and travel or preferred the exclusivity of a clinic in their own gym. Lynx players and/or coaches along with members of our staff will host this WNBA experience; all you need to do is provide the place and the basketballs. Whether it is building drills to help your kids improve, fun and games, or a combination of both, we will tailor the clinic to meet your needs. We will deliver a positive experience for all age and skill levels within your program. A question-and-answer session with the Lynx player and/or coaches follows every clinic, allowing participants the opportunity to ask their favorite WNBA players questions. The Lynx performed over 60 such clinics with several thousand participants last winter. This is a great way to team up with the Lynx to provide a WNBA experience for your community. To schedule an off-site clinic, e-mail

Jr. Lynx Youth Game
A youth game on the Lynx home court is a terrific experience for players and coaches. Each participant will take away a lifelong memory of her/his WNBA experience. Bring your teams and fans, and we'll do the rest. The Lynx will provide:

Officials for each game

Warm-up music and WNBA-style introductions for each player

Four-quarter game (seven-minute quarters) or two halves (10-minute halves)

Locker rooms

Target Center main scoreboard and an official scorekeeper

Basketballs for each team to use and a game ball

A gift item to take away from the experience
Your game at Target Center is one that you and your players will not soon forget. Imagine the thrill of playing on the court where your favorite WNBA stars play, and then taking a seat to cheer on the Lynx as they battle their way to a WNBA championship.
A day at Target Center can be used as a community event or a fundraiser for your program. If you would like to play at Target Center, but do not have an opponent in mind, we will work with you to find a team of equal ability. Court time is limited and does fill up early, so please call today to reserve your date and time. To book a date, e-mail
jrlynx@timberwolves.com or call 612-673-8444.
Lynx Halftime Games
Several times during the season, we have the opportunity for youth teams to play during halftime of a Lynx game. This once-in-a-lifetime chance to play in front of 10,000 fans may be used along with pregame activities. Parents may move down near courtside to tape and take pictures of the game. The Lynx will provide:

Mention of your team name as well as introductions of each team member
